Meet Kiri and Kelsie
Kelsie and Kiri bought the shop in 2022. We love being small business owners bringing fun, creativity, and quilt-love to our little corner of the world. We’ve learned so much, and been able to expand our crafting community by getting to know so many more quilters. Thank you for making this such a beautiful journey!
As shop owners we are working towards building a larger Country Roads Quilt Shop community here in West Virginia, and abroad! We are constantly working on new ideas for growing our quilting family locally and on the web, so make sure you keep up with us by joining our monthly newsletter, checking out our upcoming class schedule, or looking at the online shop for your newest quilt inspiration!
A bit about us…
Meet Kiri and Kelsie!
Neither of us remembers a time in our lives when we didn't own a sewing box. Our mom loves embroidery and sewing - she was always making clothes for our American Girl dolls and even outfits for us. However, we didn't discover quilting until we were young teens through a good friend. She taught us to hand piece and quilt, which holds a dear place in our hearts even though we use sewing machines for our quilts now!
We are also Morgantown natives. Our family roots go back 4+ generations on both sides in the Morgantown/Fairmont area. This is home and definitely “almost heaven” for us!
How we got started...
We love Country Roads Quilt Shop! Kelsie is an entrepreneur at heart, and loves small business. Her background is in bookwork and business management. Kiri, on the other hand, is a full time registered nurse. When Kelsie first tossed out the idea of buying the quilt shop (so the owners who had run it for 12+ years could retire) Kiri laughed her off and said someone a little further along in life would buy it. But two years later, it just felt like the right time. We believe there is still a need for this kind of shop in Morgantown, and for local, brick-and-mortar quilt shops everywhere. So we began praying about the opportunity and eventually got our accountant involved. The rest, as they say, is history.
Who Country Roads Quilt Shop is now…
We see ourselves as a place to inspire beautiful creations that we share together as a community. If friendships are grown and inspiration is found we will consider ourselves highly successful. Seeing quilt dreams becoming reality in what we and our customers do is exactly why we do what we do here!
Blessings,
Kelsie and Kiri (and the rest of the Country Roads Quilt Shop team)
